(ALESSANDRO PORCELLA) MORE THAN JUST A GENIUS

Alessandro Porcella's music means many things to me and I'm sure to millions of other people.  I wrote a short blog about his work about three months ago and I called him a genius.   Well here we are over three months later and I'm declaring him as more than just a genius.  I know there's a lot of great composers out there in this great big world, but I've come face to face with greatness upon meeting this outstanding musician/composer/publisher, arranger extraordinaire. 

   Would I be going to far if I said that he's one of the greatest of all times?  Well that's my opinion of this outstanding mega star of original compositions. Many people want to know how the beautiful song Sweet Passion came about, and to be honest with you it was born out of a simple presentation by Alessandro himself.  Never before was I presented with a song in that manner. Alessandro contacted me and left the most beautiful message (he said the next song I write will be dedicated to you).  


Well I thought that alone was wonderful and then we started to discuss my new Media Website.   It was about two months before launching and it had no music, no song, no nothing, and to be honest with you I'd never thought of adding a song. 

 This brilliant composer came up with the idea and once he composed the music he asked me to name the song, and I called it Sweet Passion because when I play music by Alessandro Porcella I feel so much passion, and the song title  is a true representation of how passionate I am  about my work in the world of entertainment.  To make a long story short, I feel blessed to have come in contact with one so great, so creative,and so diverse in his styles of music. His catalog of work is beyond spectacular.   It's the greatest!!!  Check out his impressive bio that I posted here and all the great things he's done and all the people he's worked with (can't get any better than this). 

His music belongs in a big budget movie soundtrack because it's just that outstanding.  I was with two close friends a few weeks ago and we listened to  the song Sweet Passion at the studio.  We played it very loud and it was just like being inside of a movie theater after the film ends..........GREAT is all we could say. 



   I looked over at my friends and they were speechless.  Okay,  back to the title of this story (More Than Just A Genius).  I  mean it when I say that just calling this great man a genius is not enough (HE'S MORE THAN JUST A GENIUS).  HE'S THE GREATEST and I recommend all singers, musicians, writers, producers to contact him If you're looking for that perfect song or music for your project.  I hope that many artists contact this talented composer.  Let him turn your song into something great .  Please contact him because he's one of the absolute best in the world!

Everyone knows by now that I write about people that I admire and people who inspires me.   I guess by now it's also well documented that I also have a special love and  interest in Indie & Unsigned bands & artists.  My taste varies, but when it comes to good rock & roll music there's no doubt about where my heart is. 

MY LATEST ARTICLE SHINES THE SPOTLIGHT ON A VERY TALENTED BAND FROM ROME ITALY, they go by the name of THE ROAD CONNECTION.

 

I became acquainted with this band back in Dec. 2011 when they joined my Music & Films Network, so we were no strangers to each other.  In late September 2012 I came into direct contact with the band's lead singer Lorenzo Cortoni through mail and otherwise and our passion for music was quite mutual.

 Lorenzo sent me some of his band's best songs and right away I was in love with their style of music.  A few nights ago I spent many hours playing music by this band.  I loved everything and I found myself rocking out to the song "Voo Doo Queen".  I must admit the vocals of Lorenzo Cortoni is among  some of the very best in rock & roll music.  I found myself playing each song over and over, getting a different feeling from each of them. There was no denying it.... They All Rock!! 

 "Say Goodbye",  "The Road",  "Rainy Night",  "The Hard Place", and  "Silent Scream"  are great songs and I was highly impressed with the vocals and performance of this band.  I played the song "Say Goodbye"  many many times because I really felt the soul of Lorenzo Cortoni in that song.  His voice is perfect and reminded me of early Springsteen,  Bob Seger, Jon Bon Jovi, John Mellencamp,  to name a few.  I felt a real emotional connection to the music and loved each song so much.

 The road of the rock goes through Rome with the sound of "The Road Connection":
American name, but head and heart "made in Italy".

The band is led by Lorenzo Cortoni (vocals), and is composed of:
Francesca Cinanni (backing vocals), Paul Ligori and Emiliano Caivano (guitars), Antonio Oliva (drums), Francesco Rametta (bass).

The training was created by the successful merger of a group of artists on the long-running musical Roman scene, former protagonists of other groups in the capital (Johnny & the Gozzillas, Blues Preachers, Loudtalkers, Out) and have impressive credentials, having behind a series of collaborations with musicians of rank.

The repertoire of "The Road Connection" is made by original songs (all composed by Lorenzo Cortoni) and rock covers.

THE TOMMY FIAMMENGHI BAND SPOTLIGHT

 

  

I'm back one month later shining the spotlight on The Tommy Fiammenghi Band.   I'm always excited to write about interesting people with  great talent.

  I did a special feature story of this band in July so this time around  I'm shining a spotlight on a few updates about the band.  I've contacted several of my friends in  music and radio and asked them to please  check out this rockin band.    I'm very thankful that they all responded in a very positive way.  I immediately got responses from rock & jazz radio stations from  around the world and so I can truly say I'm not the only one that finds this band appealing.  A big thank you to Tommie Brewster,  Berock Radio (UK) , Firebrand Rock Radio Show and many others.   As I said in my feature story last month The Tommy Fiammenghi Band brings classic back to rock and if you listen to the entire CD  "Into The Storm"  you will also hear a jazz flavor in their music proving that this band can rock and is quite versatile  in their style of music.  The Tommy Fiammenghi Band is currently  involved in putting together a tour around Europe.   I truly wish them the very best.

I'm sitting here listening to music with Vito Guerrieri on the drums and I'm completely mesmerized with this talented drummer.  Isn't  it strange?  I've known about this drummer for several years, but just had a chance to check out his great work.   Back in 2009 my friend (Actress, Angelina) first told me about Vito.   We were both celebrating her sister's birthday party at the time.  So how did we end up on the subject of Vito Guerrieri???  Okay I'll be honest,  we were both talking about the world's hottest musicians and  ironically she mentioned the drummer Vito Guerrieri.  She said that she had been acquainted  with him through Myspace and  email.   To make a very long story short, she knew that I was a writer and thought that I should check out his story someday.  Well here it is several years later and my fiance Rico says the same thing.  He went as far as to play some videos and music where Vito were playing the drums.  I totally dropped everything that I was doing just to listen to this great talent.   At this point I searched out everything with Vito in it (all of his videos, bands, projects, etc.).   Needless to say I was moved by his dedication in each band and I've become one of his biggest fans within the last 6 months.  I needed to write this story because I recognize great people and great talent  when I see it and Vito Guerrieri is one of the very best.  I've posted his bio and you can see for yourself just what an amazing talent he truly is.
